The Hur Lab
at the Center for Life Science Boston
ABOUT OUR LAB
The Hur Laboratory investigates how the immune system distinguishes self from non-self. We use an integrated approach combining structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology and genomics to uncover how the innate immune system recognizes and responds to non-self RNAs while avoiding self-RNAs. In parallel, we study transcriptional regulatory mechanisms that silence foreign genetic elements and promote immune tolerance. Our laboratory is located at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and is supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
